Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the libFT mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of the App

libFT is a free audiobook player. It provides two features:

• Remote streaming — browse and stream public-domain audiobooks recorded by LibriVox volunteers, delivered via the Internet Archive (archive.org). All remote content is in the public domain and is not owned or controlled by us.
• Local playback — play audio files (e.g., MP3, M4B) already stored on your device. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to play any local files.

The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use only.

3. Third-Party Content and Services

Remote audiobooks are sourced from LibriVox and served by the Internet Archive. We have no control over the availability, accuracy, or completeness of that content. If a title becomes unavailable on archive.org, it will no longer be playable through the App. We are not responsible for any interruption or removal of archive.org content.

Your use of archive.org is subject to the Internet Archive's Terms of Use.

4. Local Files and User Responsibility

The App can scan folders on your device and play audio files it finds there. You are solely responsible for the files you choose to play. We do not verify, endorse, or take responsibility for any local content. Do not use the App to play files you do not have the right to use.

5. Intellectual Property

All code, design, branding (including the "libFT" name and logo), and original UI elements are the exclusive property of Oleg Romanyshyn. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.

LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. The LibriVox name and logo are trademarks of LibriVox; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by LibriVox.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• Remote content on archive.org will be available at all times.
• Playback position or library data will be preserved in all circumstances (e.g., after a factory reset).

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law in Ontario, Canada, Oleg Romanyshyn shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data or interruption of service.

8. Changes to the App or Terms

We reserve the right to modify the App or these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Toronto, Ontario.
